Opportunities with Calfee Design

Engineering Interns: Calfee Design is frequently available to receive and provide an educational and professional home for self-motivated and talented engineering students.  Internships are unpaid and generally run 6 to 10 weeks.  In exceptional cases, we offer a frame as compensation.  If you would like to contribute to the next generation of cutting-edge carbon bicycle product(s), please email your resume to Mike Moore; Click here

Opportunities for helping the Bamboosero efforts

Want to help in a big way? Here are a few ways you can help:

Financing a Supply of Bicycle Parts for Ghana: As part of Calfee’s efforts to develop the Bamboo Bike in developing countries, we are seeking an individual or group of people who would like to finance the purchase of a container load of epoxy, the metal frame fittings and low-cost but good quality bicycle parts. These would be used for the export frames and the components would be to support the local market, which is in dire need of a steady supply of slightly better quality parts. Returns on a private loan of this type would be better than current market rates. Email craig@calfeedesign.com for more information.

Sponsorship of the abovementioned purchase: The publicity we’ve been getting on this project is staggering (just do a quick search for Calfee Bamboo Ghana) and we’d like to leverage that for a company that would like to help with this. Two high profile media companies are very warm to shoot a documentary on this. Email craig@calfeedesign.com for more information.

Sponsor the training session for a qualified group: There are several charity organizations that would like to bring in the Bamboosero business model to stimulate local economies and provide jobs. They would provide on the ground management and oversight, which is very valuable. It costs about $2,500 to train and support a group until they are up and running. Many of these organizations cannot afford the $2,500 to get started. Even with the prospect of earning it back through the sale of frames to Bamboosero. We are planning another training in Ghana in October and need two more groups to sign up. Email craig@calfeedesign.com if you’d like to sponsor one of these groups.

Donate Frequent Flier Miles: Flights to Africa are a big part of the training cost. If you have some extra miles, particularly on Delta or one of their partners, we could sure use them!
